Position Overview:

Albany Medical Center is seeking a skilled Travel RN for the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) to provide expert care for critically ill pediatric patients. This night shift position requires experience in cardiovascular intensive care (CVICU) and proficiency in using Epic EMR. The successful candidate will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care in a fast-paced academic medical center.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients in the PICU.
• Utilize advanced skills in cardiovascular intensive care management.
• Monitor patient status, administer medications, and respond promptly to changes in condition.
• Collaborate effectively with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Epic EMR.
• Adhere to hospital policies, patient safety standards, and infection control protocols.
• Wear navy blue scrubs as per hospital dress code requirements.

Required Qualifications:

• Active RN license (New York State or applicable compact license).
• Minimum of 2 years PICU nursing experience, with specific CVICU experience required.
• Proficiency with Epic EMR system is mandatory.
• Current BLS, PALS, and ACLS certifications.
• Ability to work night shifts (7 PM to 7:30 AM) reliably.
• Understanding of hospital policies, procedures, and standards in a large academic medical center.
• Note: Effective 1/11/2024, candidates from certain local counties (refer to ineligible counties list) are not eligible.
