12hr Days, EOW, First to FloatFamily Birthing Center/LDRP--CAN YOUR CANDIDATE CATCH THE BABY? PLEASE CONFIRM B4 SUBBING OBED beds 2; 7 LDRP beds; 4-8 Overflow PP beds; 1 OR suite for C-Sections NICU with 2 beds for newborn stabilization 70-80 births a month & NST antepartum testing (averaging 60-70 per mo) Do you follow AWHONN guidelines for ratios? NO Labor 1:2, 1:1 at delivery. 1:4 Mother/Baby couplets. Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, AWHONN Advanced EFM Common diagnoses/Types of patients: 35 weeks and above, may do twin deliveries, preterm patients less than 35 weeks transferred to higher level of care Experience or 'Must have' skills: Must have at least 1 years of LDRP experience; prefer 3 years of experience in this settings. Will take L&D only with OR circulating experience, but will not accept a candidate who only has postpartum experience RN must be comfortable with NRP at delivery, no in-house pediatric coverage Are RNs required to titrate drips? Yes Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Titrate pitocin and very occasionally insulin Charge Nurse/House Supervisor? Charge nurse or Nurse Shift Manager on every shift Does the charge nurse take an assignment? Preferably not, but will take an assignment if required by staffing needs Are there nurse aids/surgical techs on this unit? No CNAs, one OB Tech scheduled each shift OB/Neonatologist in house 24/7? OB is in house 24/7 They have a perinatal specialist to improve neonatal complications. Anesthesia in-house 24/7? Anesthesia not in house 24/7, but on-call. If there are no patients there is not an anesthesiologist in house, they would be on call with a 20 minute response time. If any patients have an epidural, anesthesia remains in house and would stay for the entirety. RT Equipment (vents, Cpap, BiPap, etc): RT attends every delivery and will assist in providing respiratory support and manage equipment when needed. Equipment: Ventilator, CPAP, bubble CPAP machine Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? No. GE fetal monitors can record maternal heart rhythm. Nurses required to take ACLS, but if but if a patient receives general anesthesia they will be recovered in the Main PACU EFM System Fetalink Weekend Requirements: 2 wkend shifts per 4 week schedule, Nights - fri/sat, Days - Sat/Sun Holiday Requirements: Rotate in with core staff Is there a call or standby req? May be placed on-call/standby on scheduled shifts and expected to present within 30 minutes of call back Floating Requirements? All other Sacramento facilities. Mid-shift float to another facility is rare, but can happen. Scheduling is 4 wks in advance
