Job Summary/Purpose: The Credit Processor researches, analyzes, and resolves undistributed and credit transactions within the EPIC system, processing transactions such as transfers, posting, offsets, refunds, etc. They verify insurance, patient, and guarantor information, update demographics and coverage, and note account actions. Must be accountable, adaptable, and flexible to changes and deadlines.

Minimum Requirements: High school diploma and one-year revenue cycle work experience. Prior account analysis, credit resolution, billing, or insurance follow-up experience preferred, with knowledge of insurance payor remittances and EPIC system helpful. Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills are required. Dependability, team focus, goal orientation, strong work ethic, and positive attitude are desired.

Job Duties:

  • Process undistributed and credit transactions according to workflows, verifying insurance, patient, and guarantor info, and updating records.
  • Maintain departments current Completed Account Contribution totals.
  • Achieve >=97% accuracy rate on audits.
  • Review and process weekly HPF Insurance Refund Request Letters to meet deadlines.
  • Review returned refunds, verify reasons, and process cancellations, reposts, reissues, or apply to escheatment or MISC Income.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to perform job functions while standing, walking, sitting, bending, kneeling, climbing, reaching, and lifting objects up to 20 lbs. Vision correction to 20/40 and ability to work indoors in a latex-safe environment are required.
