The Salvation Army Midtown Service and Treatment Center is looking for a Substance Abuse Counselor. This individual will be responsible for counseling clients, conducting intakes, assessments, crisis intervention, developing treatment plans, ongoing follow up counseling and treatment plan reviews, developing safety plans, group therapy, and education and facilitating referrals. This is a full-time, exempt position, pay is based on experience. 1 William Booth Drive O'Fallon, MO 63366 Essential Duties: Maintain confidential, systematic, accurate documentation of client progress. Lead group counseling and education sessions with clients daily. Conduct evaluation interviews to assess the type of treatment required by the client. Make referrals to Community Support Worker, Mental Health Counselor and outside agencies as needed. Conduct family education sessions and/co-dependent counseling.
