Summary:

The Paid Media Associate Manager at ESPN is responsible for planning, executing, and optimizing digital marketing campaigns to drive subscriber growth for ESPN+. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, analyzing campaign data, and developing innovative media strategies that align with current trends. The ESPN Media team focuses on driving new subscriber growth for ESPN+. The team handles the planning, execution, and optimization of user acquisition, retention, and performance marketing campaigns. The ideal candidate has a passion for digital media and understands the intricacies of each step in the marketing funnel. The role requires a highly analytical, creative, and adaptable growth mindset to deliver innovative solutions.

The Media Planning Team at ESPN develops innovative media plans that increase awareness, consumption, subscriptions, and brand affinity across all properties and platforms, impacting ESPN's business.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop data-driven tactics for paid media campaigns across digital platforms, including social, display, programmatic, and CTV.
  • Optimize creative assets based on audience insights, A/B testing, and performance data to maximize conversion and efficiency.
  • Analyze campaign data and collaborate with Marketing Analytics teams to improve acquisition and retention media effectiveness.
  • Partner with agencies and internal marketing teams on creative assets that drive ESPN+ subscriber acquisition and engagement.
  • Stay updated on trends and platform best practices, bringing innovative approaches to ESPN's DTC marketing campaigns.
  • Present results and insights to stakeholders to inform future strategies.
  • Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in digital marketing or performance media.
  • Strong understanding of performance marketing principles, including direct response creative and digital advertising best practices.
  • Knowledge of creative best practices across CTV, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, and/or programmatic platforms.
  • Ability to analyze performance metrics and apply data-driven insights to optimize assets.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Enthusiasm for sports and sports fans.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, external partners, and stakeholders.
  • Experience with A/B testing, audience segmentation, and conversion optimization is a plus.
  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Comfortable working in a dynamic environment supporting new products or businesses backed by large-scale media properties or DTC brands.
  • Familiarity with creative performance analytics and testing methodologies.
  • Knowledge of mobile app tracking solutions (e.g., Kochava, Appsflyer, Adjust) is a plus.
  • Required Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, or a related field.
  • Additional Details:

    The hiring range in New York, NY is $74,300 to $99,600 annually. Actual offers will consider internal equity, geographic region, experience, and other factors. Compensation may include bonuses and long-term incentives, along with benefits such as medical and financial packages.
