Director of Marketing and Business Development - NYC, $200K

The Director of Marketing and Business Development will play a critical role in supporting firm-wide Business Development and Marketing activities, in addition to supervising the Senior Marketing and Business Development Specialist.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of ten years of law firm, Intellectual Property (IP) experience, or professional services business development experience. They should be a proactive self-starter with a positive attitude, highly organized, responsible for projects, resourceful, and possess strong management skills. This position offers opportunities for face time and relationship-building with attorneys across the firm.

Key Business Development Responsibilities:

  • Develop a deep understanding of the firm's attorneys, clients, experience, and capabilities.
  • Coordinate with lawyers to develop individual business development plans, schedule regular touchpoints, networking, and related activities.
  • Manage the CRM database and supervise data entry and tracking of all business development activities.
  • Assist partners with managing their contacts, maintaining top-of-mind awareness, and organizing ongoing efforts.
  • Work with senior partners to create and produce client-facing materials for new business pursuits, including pitches, presentations, and meeting materials.
  • Maintain and track materials such as pitches, proposals, lawyer profiles, and directory submissions.
  • Track ROI for all business development activities.
  • Identify opportunities for thought leadership and marketing campaigns to enhance brand awareness.
  • Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in Marketing or a related field; IP experience is a plus.
  • Minimum of ten years experience in Marketing/Business Development.
  • Strong critical and analytical thinking, creative problem-solving, and sound judgment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills to interact with senior partners and management.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively.
  • CRM experience required; ContactEase experience is advantageous.
  • Hybrid schedule: 3 days on-site; salary $200K; bonus eligible.
