Essential functions
- Operation of all yard maintenance equipment, i.e.; mowing, trimming, pruning, etc.
- Operate backhoe and forklift
- Maintain and clean all equipment
- Maintain lawn sprinkler system
- Assist in other areas of building maintenance as assigned
- Other duties as assigned.

- Subject Knowledge: Familiarity w/seasonal plants, sprinkler system, and other landscape equipment.
- Communication Skills: Ability to troubleshoot steps and resolutions. Ability to collaborate with other maintenance team members and departments to resolve complex issues.
- Professionalism: Effective time management skills to handle multiple support requests and prioritize tasks appropriately. Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and tools. A commitment to staying up-to-date with industry trends and developments through self-learning and professional development opportunities.
Supervisory responsibilities None Work environment The grounds maintenance worker typically works both indoors and outdoors and may be exposed to inclement weather, noise and dust. A standard workweek as assigned by administration is required, but evening or weekend hours may be required to accommodate activities or emergencies. Physical demands This position will require physically strenuous work. While performing the duties of this job, the grounds maintenance worker will be required to move/position objects up to 50 lbs. or more, perform extensive work which may include climbing to elevated surfaces and/or rooftops, driving maintenance vehicles and operation of other heavy equipment necessary to perform duties. Travel required Occasional travel within and outside of the Great Plains Technology Center district may be required for work at other school sites, professional development, and participation in other Great Plains Technology Center activities. Required education and experience
- High school diploma or equivalency
Preferred education and experience
- Job-related experience within a specialized field having demonstrated increasing levels of responsibility
