Title One Instructional Assistant Part Time (599 Hours)

The Instructional Assistant will be paid $20 per hour not to exceed 599 hours over the course of the school year. The typical daily schedule is 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM for middle school or 8:40 AM - 3:40 PM for elementary school. Specific hours will be determined in conjunction with the building principal based on student needs. The Instructional Assistant reports to the assigned classroom teacher and the building principal. Qualifications: Must have paraprofessional approval from the Illinois State Board of Education. Must have completed a minimum of 60 semester hours of college coursework, have earned an Associate's degree, or have passed ETS or the Work. Keys tests. Must be able to demonstrate an ability to communicate effectively in oral and written English. Working knowledge of literacy and mathematics at the elementary and/or middle school level as well as research-based instructional strategies preferred.
