Network Engineer Location: Mclean, VAWork Type: OnsiteRemote Work: NO Job Description Gridiron IT is a Network Engineer to join the team! You will support the customer's data communications network; maintain the network hardware and software, as well as monitor the network to ensure availability to all system users; and perform the necessary maintenance to support network availability. You will support the customer by computing and leading the network builds and deployments within mission critical environments in the Intelligence Community. When you join us, you will have the opportunity to take advantage of our Enterprise Training Program to expand your technical expertise. You will need to be proficient in CISCO network solutions, as well as software defined networks and firewalls from AWS, CISCO, Google and Microsoft. The purpose of the Luke program, is to provide DevOps, applied technology investigations, operations and maintenance, and infrastructure lifecycle support services across the ODNI's enterprise. Responsibilities Designing, installing, testing network infrastructure, configurations, and equipment such as firewalls, routers, and switchesPerform routing network maintenance, patching, upgrades, and troubleshootingInstalling and maintaining network cabling systems (pulling, terminating, and testing)Identifying and resolving issues related to network infrastructureExcellent troubleshooting and analytical skill, along with excellent collaboration and communication skills with technical and non-technical usersExperience coordinating and implementing network upgradesA combination of experience with network monitoring, scripting, and automationHands-on experience managing a large-scale enterprise spanning on-premises local area networks (LAN) and cloud platforms (software defined networking/SDN)Extensive experience implementing and troubleshooting network technologies such as SD-WAN, VRFs, OSPF, EIGRP, OMP, BGP, MPLS, and multicastStrong working knowledge of circuits management (LTE, Broadband, and dedicated T1 - 100Gb, Ethernet, etc.) and ability to run cable, as neededProven ability to work in a dynamic team environment with changing requirements and competing prioritiesMay need to occasionally work off hours for network maintenance and changesLead Network BuildsManage on prem LAN and VLANsTroubleshoot network outages/restore as quickly as possibleManage network equipment among multiple locations with the DMVApply network security techniques to include creating VLAN's, configuring port security, and network interfacesCreate a weekly activity reportRequired Qualifications TS/SCI + polyBachelor's degree preferably in an IT related field 7 years of related experience; or a Master's with 5 years of experience; an Associates with 8 years of experience.CCNA or CCNP certificationAzure network knowledge, including skill with hub/spoke topology and familiarity with VNets, SNets, Network Security Groups, Route Tables, peering connections and route propagationDirect experience with at least one other of the following cloud service providers: AWS, Google, or OracleAzure premium firewall policies knowledge, including hierarchy of rule collections (DNAT, Network and Applications, traffic shaping, IP groups)Demonstrated experience designing and implementing network infrastructure, routing, and integrating with cloud infrastructure and partner networksProficient in network provisioning and troubleshooting on complex, global WANs, using CISCO and Palo Alto, or similar equipmentDemonstrated experience with network management systems like CISCO ISE and Junos SpaceDemonstrated experience automating routine tasks with tools like Ansible, Puppet, or TerraformDemonstrated experience managing and maintaining network infrastructure and systemsDemonstrated experience obtaining system authorizations and maintaining their security postureUnderstanding of network securityExperience with Next Generation FirewallsExperience with Perimeter security best practicesDemonstrated experience with troubleshooting network outages/incidents and restoring servicesDemonstrated experience with managing network equipmentExperience with creating firewall rules to allow/deny network trafficAbility to communicate effectively in a fast-paced environmentAbility to estimate work effort requirements efficiently and appropriatelyStrong public speaking skills and professional demeanor requiredMust remain on the client site during Program core hours of 0900-1500Desired:Direct experience with Terraform Infrastructure as Code -IaCExperience with Insider Threat programsExperience with managing and using Dev Ops conceptsClearance Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Requires TS/SCI with a CI Polygraph. Compensation and Benefits Salary Range: $150,000 - $220,000/yr (Compensation is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, work experience, skills, education, certifications, seniority, and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.)
