This position oversees and monitors environmental pollution controls and ensures compliance for City of Alexandria environmental programs. It provides compliance and enforcement support across multiple City operations, including solid waste management, stormwater quality, and sanitary sewer utility systems. The Environmental Pollution Control Specialist / Noise-Disturbance Inspector conducts inspections, investigates sources of environmental pollutants, and enforces federal, state, and local regulations related to environmental hazards. Work is performed under the general supervision of an Environmental Program Manager in the Office of Environmental Quality. The role supports the Noise Inspector and may require early morning weekday starts, occasional evenings, and one weekend day. The standard work week is 40 hours. The Opportunity.
