This position is responsible for ensuring that Fresh Produce, Meat and Seafood items, distributed within our supply chain, meets or exceeds Meijer quality standards and USDA regulatory grading requirements; by working collaboratively with the Buying Offices, through the inspection of incoming and outbound loads at the distribution facility. This position also involves addressing any issues at the DF regarding Food Safety/ Quality concerns What You'll Be Doing:Inspects and evaluates inbound produce loads, utilizing product quality test equipment, to verify fresh product meets minimum government requirements and Meijer specifications. Reports inspection observations to DF Leadership and Buyers and helps facilitate any corrective actions. With oversight of the QA Supervisor or other lead QA Team Member, makes the decision to reject fresh product, based on USDA and Meijer specifications, when Produce Buyer is not available (outside of normal office hours).
