Position Details:
- Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week
- Shift: Days, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
- Structure: 5x8s
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- On-Call: Not required
- Patient Ratios: Within CA State Law Guidelines
- Responsibilities: Passing medications, performing blood draws, and providing patient care within a behavioral health/correctional setting
Credentialing & Compliance:
- Credentialing Timeline: LA County requires a 1-month credentialing process
- Document Submission: All credentialing documents due 2 weeks prior to start date
- Feedback Timeline: 3–5 days to receive feedback after submission
Requirements:
- Licensure: Active CA RN License (expired licenses must be renewed; if applying, candidates should contact the Senator's office to expedite)
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- Fire Card
- MAB or CPI (Required)
- Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years in psychiatric inpatient care
- Correctional health, detention center, or locked behavioral health facility experience strongly preferred
- Travel experience preferred, not required
- Additional:
- Must be comfortable with required skills (med passes, blood draws, weekend schedule)
- COVID-19 vaccination + booster required
