- Orchestrating our signature 2-Hour Learning blocks where you'll help students navigate goals, maintain focus, and harness our tech tools for maximum growth
- Reinforcing reading foundations by complementing the work of our Reading Specialists and creating consistent literacy practice opportunities
- Cultivating emotional intelligence, resilience, and collaborative skills through a perfect balance of structure and nurturing support
- Monitoring individual progress with precision, identifying challenges before they become obstacles, and adapting approaches in partnership with your team
- Building a classroom atmosphere that feels simultaneously structured and playful—think of it as a high-achievement summer camp where joy and learning are inseparable
What You Won't Be Doing
- Standing at the front of the room delivering traditional lectures all day
- Taking primary responsibility for literacy curriculum design or implementation
- Drowning in paperwork, endless grading, or exhaustive lesson planning
- Working in an environment that's either tech-averse or devoid of joy and creativity
- Addressing behavioral challenges without considering the whole child and their unique needs
Student Success Coach Key ResponsibilitiesChampion our young learners on their journey to building essential habits, unshakable confidence, and emotional resilience—all critical elements for success in Alpha's innovative, technology-enhanced learning environment.Basic Requirements
- Availability for full-time, in-person work at one of our campus locations (Washington D.C. area, Raleigh, Charlotte, Orange County, Sacramento, or San Francisco)
- Bachelor's degree in any field
- Minimum 3 years of experience working with children ages 4–8 in educational settings, afterschool programs, coaching environments, or similar contexts
- Proven track record of engaging and guiding groups of young children with both clear boundaries and authentic enthusiasm
- Demonstrated commitment to personal growth and receptiveness to feedback
- Authorization to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship
Nice-to-have Requirements
- Formal training or certifications in early childhood educational approaches (such as Child Development Associate, Montessori, or Reggio Emilia methodologies)
- Background in supporting reading development or collaborating with literacy specialists
- Experience with adaptive learning technologies or personalized education platforms
