Position SummaryProvide leadership, coordination, and project management in the development and maintenance of gas distribution and transmission compliance data contained within the Preventative Maintenance Management System. Establish, implement, and monitor decision-making processes to ensure accurate technical and regulatory information is reflected in electronic data files for Gas Operations Managers. Perform consistent status checks for each service center ensuring completion of work and update of the maintenance scheduling data files. Track the completion of work and update the maintenance scheduling data files. Provide technical support for Gas Distribution and Transmission Service Centers within the Utilities Group organization.Essential Responsibilities
  • Establish, implement, and monitor gas distribution and transmission regulatory compliance processes. Actively review data to ensure accurate technical and business unit information is reflected in electronic files for all gas distribution and transmission equipment formally tracked in Preventive Maintenance Tracking System. Closely monitors all documentation and regulatory decision-making processes to assure corporate gas regulatory compliance. Manage the gas equipment and preventive maintenance databases to ensure that all equipment additions, moves or retirements are accurately reflected in the electronic database. Preventive Maintenance records include and are not limited to: Gas Leak Tracking, Regulator Stations, Distribution Valves, Compressor Stations, and Gas Survey.
  • Responsible for gathering, production and communication of high level reports utilizing various software tools available, including but not limited to, SAP, WEBI, and PB Views. Establish inter-departmental partnerships to initiate preventive maintenance and reporting requirements in the preventive maintenance tracking system equipment records, through interpretation of Gas Code Regulations based on Federal, State and local regulatory agencies. Utilize preventive maintenance data to report regulatory compliance to Senior Leadership, various regulatory agencies and disperse throughout organizational structure as required. Track the completion of code compliance work orders and update the maintenance scheduling data files to reflect that the compliance work has been completed on time by Field Operations. Determine, through reporting mechanisms, if remedial action is required and provide recommendations unilaterally to all levels, including Senior Leadership.
  • Responsible for preparing and conducting training for newly implemented, improved or gaps in existing processes and procedures within the preventive maintenance system, as well as other linked systems.
  • As project lead, develop and implement new processes and procedures for gas compliance activities in Xcel Energy's preventive maintenance tracking system.
  • Communicate with and establish effective working relationships with external entities and internal organizations to maximize project efficiency and assure preventive maintenance program is functioning properly. Proactively communicate with Senior Leadership company-wide, as required, to assure regulatory compliance. Implement changes in PM record keeping, as required, by new and/or shifts in equipment ownership and responsibility.
  • Perform other duties, as required.
Minimum Requirements
  • Associates Degree or completion of gas apprenticeship program or a combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge.
  • Minimum of 6 years work experience in gas distribution and/or transmission construction and maintenance, or a combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge.
  • Minimum of 2 years work experience with gas regulatory code compliance.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of database applications.
  • Knowledge of gas system maintenance practices and scheduling of maintenance activities.
  • Proficient with work management systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new software applications in a short period of time.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to lead cross-functional teams to a common objective.
  • Ability to provide training to end users, both one on one or in a formal training environment.
  • Travel will be required.

  • Knowledge of Xcel Energy budgetary and operational system processes is preferred
