Position Summary: The Pricing Analyst is responsible for ensuring that all retail gas sites are priced in accordance with corporate strategy and generating reports for all levels of executive management and operations personnel. This individual would conduct analysis of sites to generate strategy recommendations to maximize gross profit. Additionally, this individual will conduct independent and team ad hoc analysis using a variety of data sources. Responsibilities: 1. Ensuring retail sites are priced using Kalibrate Pricing Software, verifying and reviewing cost daily, reviewing competitor pricing and volume/margin performance 2. Manages daily snapshot reports that display margin & volume trends, budget performance, competitor movement and pricing position for assigned locations, which in turn is used to modify specific site pricing as warranted. 3. Lead monthly Fuel Performance calls with field management to understand opportunity areas and recommend strategy changes 4. Monitors and reports weekly/monthly/quarterly demand market share figures and communicates strategy change recommendations to Manager of Retail Petroleum Pricing based on data 5. Manages implementation of specialty yield management pricing strategies and reports ongoing status/performance of strategies. 6. Research and identify opportunities for the electronic capture of competitive retail pricing data and coordinate with IT to import this data into the pricing and reporting systems 7. Closely monitors costs, margins and price feeds to ensure data accuracy for assigned retail locations 8. Track state-specific variance to benchmark volume and margin performance and leverages to achieve target results 9. Measure regional performance against available regional and national data to implement appropriate strategies and achieve or exceed target metrics 10. Proactively create dashboards and other analytic tools to monitor and shift strategies in accordance with senior leadership targets Working Relationships: Retail operations (DM, RM & VP), SVP of Retail Operations, various vendors, VP of Petroleum Operations, IT Department, App Dev, Smart Rewards teams Requirements: Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree Required Preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree with focus in finance/statistics/business Minimum Experience: 1-3 years pricing/business experience Preferred Experience: 3-5 years management / leadership experience Soft Skills: Other:
  • Must have strong Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel skills. Power BI, SQL, and other visualization/database querying experience a plus.
  • Self-starter who enjoys solving complex problems.
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to make timely and effective decisions.
  • Ability to manage quantity and quality of workload, working independently and able to take initiative.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to work both independently and in collaboration with both intra and interdepartmental teams.
  • Must have reliable access to high speed internet.
