Purpose: The Benefits Coordinator has a thorough understanding of all employee benefits and assists in managing employee benefits programs, such as administrative processes, records management, data entry and compliance. Essential Job Functions:
  • Prepare reports, process paperwork, and manage documentation
  • Create and implement wellness materials to promote initiatives pertaining to employee health and well-being
  • Manage benefit verification requests and National Medical Support Orders (NMSOs) by ensuring compliance with court-ordered health insurance coverage for employees' children
  • Facilitate the collection of premiums, particularly in cases involving leaves of absence (LOA), such as FMLA (Family and Medical Leave Act) or personal leaves
  • Serve as a point of contact to the communities and employees for benefit inquiries
  • Support employees with enrollment navigation and qualifying life event changes to dental, vision, medical, and other insurance benefit programs as well as plan interpretation
  • Distribute benefit notices and communications
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee benefits information in company HRIS and vendor systems while maintaining confidentiality of sensitive company and employee data
  • Assist with the annual open enrollment and other benefit related processes as needed
  • The ability to actively contribute as a team player, with both the immediate HR team, as well as assigned cross-functional teams
  • Other duties as assigned
Minimum Eligibility Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree and three to five years of related benefits or employee Benefits Coordinator experience preferred
  • Knowledge of benefits and wellness compliance: Understanding of relevant laws and regulations (HIPAA, ERISA, COBRA, ACA, etc.)
  • Highly organized, experience working in a fast-paced environment with numerous deadlines and competing priorities
  • Ability to communicate effectively and develop positive working relationships with internal and external vendors
  • Excellent computer skills, especially with spreadsheets, databases and MS Office programs
