Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Progressive Care Unit (PCU)

Location: Aiken, SC 29801, USA

Shift: 12-Hour Night Shifts (3x12s) | Hours/Week: 36 hour

Contract Duration: . 13 weeks

Weekly Breakdown:

Weekly Gross: $2,362.00 Per Week On W2(Taxable): $1,116.00 Per Week Stipend(Non-Taxable): $1,246.00 Per Week Requirements:

  • License: Active RN license – Required
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent PCU experience – Required
  • Certifications (All Required):
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
    • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
    • CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention)
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program
  • Primary Source Verification: Required
  • Pre-employment Assessments: Must pass any assessments required by the facility

Responsibilities:

Patient Care & Assessment

  • Perform comprehensive body system assessments, including pain evaluation
  • Incorporate clinical indicators (labs, imaging, vitals) in patient reports
  • Monitor and report abnormal test results
  • Implement care plans and update based on patient needs

Collaboration & Communication

  • Communicate effectively with physicians, staff, and families
  • Actively participate in unit-based problem-solving and staff meetings
  • Assist direct reports and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams

Professionalism & Ethics

  • Advocate for patients and uphold all ethical and legal standards
  • Follow chain of command and promote patient rights
  • Contribute to a supportive and professional work environment

Documentation & Quality

  • Accurately document care and ensure compliance with facility protocols
  • Use and monitor special equipment (e.g., infusion pumps, monitors)
  • Demonstrate strong time management and minimize burden on next shift

Education & Training

  • Educate patients and families on care plans and procedures
  • Serve as a preceptor for students and new hires
  • Support post-hospital care planning

Residency Requirement: Must live at least 100 miles away from the facility
