Title: Receptionist Reports to: Agency Operations Manager Supervisory Role: No Pay Range: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour Mountcastle Insurance is a privately owned, independent insurance agency with offices in Lexington, Mount Airy, and Winston-Salem, NC. Mountcastle has provided insurance services in the Triad since 1890 serving commercial, group benefits, and personal lines clients.
SUMMARY The Receptionist is responsible for professionally answering the phones, directing calls, greeting visitors, taking payments, and performing administrative tasks as needed or requested. This a great opportunity for someone interested in starting out in the insurance industry.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS - Answer customer calls professionally and warmly
- Accurately directs caller to the correct person or department
- Greets visitors in a friendly and positive way
- Take customer payments either over the phone or in person
- Maintains inventory of all supplies
- Open, sort, separate, and scan mail accurately for agency personnel
- Process outgoing mail
- Keeps workroom, mail area, conference rooms, and reception area neat and organized
- Assists with processing changes on customer accounts
- Actively seeks out and performs others agency services support functions as requested or required
QUALIFICATIONS - Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Exhibits initiative, responsibility, and is dependable
- Ability to multi-task
- Strong organizational skills
- Proficient in Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Attention to detail
- Can perform basic administrative tasks
- High school diploma or equivalent required
