Job Description Office Assistant The primary purpose of this position is to assist with various tasks in the Deans' Office of Religious Education, including the updating of our historical committee assignments lists, our award nominations and awards at the university and college levels, and scanning or shredding nonconfidential paper files. This employee is the first person that people will meet when they enter the Deans' Office of Religious Education, so this position is very important to us.
What you'll do in this position: - Train and supervise three student employees.
- Answer the telephones and help students, faculty, and staff with questions or needs.
- Order supplies for two departments and the college offices and keep our supply room for 120 faculty and staff fully stocked.
- Read all emails that are sent to our websites, answer those that can be easily answered, and then decide who the rest should be sent to.
- Work on our awards spreadsheet to ensure it is correct and up to date each time that university and college awards are presented to faculty or staff.
- Go through all nonconfidential files and shred what is no longer needed and digitize everything else.
What qualifies you for this role: Required: - A firm commitment to the mission of BYU
- Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of three years of working in an office
Preferred: - Good knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Previous work with newsletters

Pay Grade: 46
Typical Starting Pay: $16.50 to $21.00 an hour
