Base pay range

$68,951.00/yr - $87,138.00/yr

Job Description

Under the direction of the Historic Site Regional Supervisor, M-1 at the Palisades Regional Administration Office, Bear Mountain, NY, the duties include:

  • Administer rules, regulations, and policies of OPRHP and the State of New York.
  • Manage, supervise, and coordinate all activities at the Site; develop and implement the Site's master plan.
  • Supervise staff and volunteers; approve staffing and schedules.
  • Conduct interviews and performance reviews.
  • Develop and oversee historic site operations, programming, and public relations.
  • Collaborate with DHP and local organizations to promote the site.
  • Research the Site's history.
  • Prepare budgets and manage finances.
  • Coordinate work projects, restoration, and security.
  • Ensure historical accuracy of exhibits and structures.
  • Report on spending and program activities.
  • Coordinate archaeology, collections, and restoration programs.
  • Represent the agency publicly and serve on committees.
Qualifications

This position is part of the NY HELPS program. Candidates must meet the following minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant fields.
  • Experience in museum or historic site operations.
  • Two years of administrative experience in historic or government settings.

Applicants must possess a valid driver's license and be available for occasional weekend and evening work.
