We are on the lookout for a meticulous and highly organized Document Destruction Specialist. This role is crucial in the secure handling, tracking, and destruction of classified and sensitive documents and materials in compliance with governmental and company regulations. As a key member of our team, you will ensure the integrity of destruction operations through precise recordkeeping, operational excellence, and adherence to chain-of-custody protocols.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Receive, verify, log, and track classified and sensitive materials scheduled for destruction.
- Operate specialized destruction equipment, including shredders and disintegrators, strictly following agency-approved methods.
- Maintain accurate chain-of-custody records and destruction logs to guarantee full accountability.
- Follow and enforce destruction schedules, internal controls, and safety protocols.
- Support audits, security inspections, and material control reviews related to destruction activities.
- Safely store and transport materials within restricted areas or SCIFs (Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities).
- Coordinate with Facility Security Officers, Material Managers, and Security Representatives to ensure compliance and resolve any issues.
- Train and mentor new personnel on secure material handling and destruction practices.
- Assist with material control tasks including inventory reconciliation, packaging, labeling, and classified media disposition.
Basic Qualifications:
- Active TS/SCI w/Poly clearance is required.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2-4 years of relevant experience in materials management, warehousing, or production planning.
- Working knowledge of materials management, warehousing operations, and inventory control practices.
- Ability to interpret engineering specifications and production schedules to identify raw material needs.
- Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills for collaboration within teams and across departments.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision and to solve moderately complex problems.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate degree or vocational training in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
- Proficiency with Materials Management Systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
- Experience in selecting materials based on performance, cost, and production requirements.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Familiarity with lean inventory or just-in-time (JIT) practices.
- Basic understanding of safety and regulatory standards in warehouse environments.
This position is essential in keeping our operations secure and efficient. The anticipated pay range for this role is $39,000.00 - $70,500.00.
