We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Linux System Administrator to support innovative Cyber Training Systems and Synthetic Environment Generation programs. Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, operate, and maintain complex information systems across various architectures.
  • Manage day-to-day operations, upgrades, and maintenance for both workstations and servers.
  • Coordinate and perform complex software installations while adhering to IT policies.
  • Monitor and optimize performance levels of multiple systems, ensuring reliability.
  • Implement robust data integrity and media recoverability solutions through effective backup strategies.
  • Develop standardized operating procedures to streamline system enhancements and compliance.
  • Conduct regular audits of hardware and software to meet established standards.
  • Respond rapidly to issues and lead resolutions to minimize downtime.
  • Manage user accounts and adhere to access control protocols.
  • Stay current with network security practices and basic networking principles.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree with 8+ years of relevant experience or a Master's Degree with 6+ years of experience.
  • U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain at least a Secret security clearance.
  • Active CompTIA Security+ CE certification.
  • Strong experience with Linux RHEL & Debian, Windows, AWS, and Azure platforms.
  • Proficient in installing and troubleshooting operating systems and custom software.
  • Experience with local area networks (LAN) and wide area networks (WAN).
  • Demonstrated skills in enterprise virtualization technologies, including VMware.
  • Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with teams.
  • Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience conducting Analysis of Alternatives (AoA) for emerging technologies.
    • Familiarity with Windows 11 and servers, as well as multiple Linux distributions.
    • Knowledge of DNS/DHCP technologies and enterprise network management tools.
    • Understanding of ITIL frameworks and regulatory requirements.
