The Impact You'll Make in this Role:

The Value Channel Sales Manager is responsible for driving growth and achieving the Growth Operating Plan (OP). This role requires a strategic thinker who can develop and execute sales growth plans, strengthen relationships with key business partners, and engage cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives.

As a Sales Manager, 3M Consumer Business Group, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. The role will be responsible for managing all aspects of the USA Value Channel accounts (Dollar General, Family Dollar and Dollar Tree) and other assigned regional accounts.

Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Leading the development and execution of strategic growth plans for all 3M portfolio's focusing on expanding sales into the assigned territory & value channel and collaborating with various buying teams to maximize opportunities.
  • Crafting and advocating for comprehensive business plans that align with area go-to-market strategies and the unique needs of the portfolio with your customers.
  • Identifying and leveraging opportunities to enhance productivity, seasonal performance, and space expansion, while leading strategic discussions for online and seasonal growth plans.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, shopper marketing, eCommerce specialists, customer service and demand planners to analyze performance, prioritize initiatives, and optimize promotional investments.
  • Monitoring market trends and competitive dynamics to position the channel for increased market share, while fostering strong relationships with the customers buying teams and other key stakeholders.
  • Overseeing financial management, including the Marketing Development Fund (MDF) plan, rebate plans, and addressing financial discrepancies to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Providing leadership in developing and enhancing 3M's partnerships at all levels of accounts under scope of responsibility.
  • Providing regular updates on business progress to divisional sales leaders including communication of critical issues and opportunities.
  • Creating solutions through critical thinking, creativity, innovation and strong analytical skills.
  • Sharing vision and always demonstrating company values.

Company Vehicle: This position requires driving a company vehicle, which will require pre-employment and ongoing review of motor vehicle history for candidates who are offered and hired for this position.

Your Skills and Expertise:

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start)
  • Three (3) years of experience in Key Account Sales for Regional and National Chain Accounts in a private, public, government, or military environment.
  • Five (5) years' experience in sales/marketing/analytics.
  • Current, valid Driver's License

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • MBA preferred.
  • 7 years of direct sales responsibility in retail key accounts in a private, public, government or military environment.
  • Prior experience in the consumer business retail channels.
  • Strong analytical ability to uncover insights from account and market POS data in order to create opportunities for 3M.
  • Experience creating partnerships with C-suite stakeholders with strong negotiation skills.
  • Strong collaboration skills across multiple organizations within 3M, broker organizations, and targeted accounts.

Location: Remote -- Mid-Atlantic or St. Paul, MN preferred

Sales Territory: United States

Travel: May include up to 25% travel

Relocation: Maybe Authorized
