Job Title: Assistant Project Manager – Construction

100 year plus, Chicago based, top 60 ENR GC who is looking to add Project Engineers to their growing teams!

Position Summary:
The Assistant Project Manager (APM) will work closely with the Project Manager to plan, coordinate, and oversee construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. This role is ideal for a motivated professional who is detail-oriented, highly organized, and eager to grow into a full Project Manager position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Project Manager in day-to-day project coordination, scheduling, and communication with all stakeholders.
- Help prepare and maintain project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and meeting minutes.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, architects, and engineers to ensure timely delivery of project milestones.
- Monitor project progress and quality, ensuring compliance with contract documents and safety standards.
- Support budget tracking, cost reporting, and invoice approvals.
- Conduct site visits and assist with punch lists and project closeout activities.
Qualifications:
- Four-year construction-related degree or equivalent combination of related experience and technical training (1-4 years)
- Working knowledge of construction equipment and techniques, drawings, and specifications, building materials and required standards applicable to discipline
- Knowledge of Construction Management Software
