SAVI EHS is seeking a skilled and highly motivated EHS Manager for a direct-hire opportunity with a premier General Contractor. This is a critical leadership position to manage all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) aspects of a new, large-scale data center construction project in Manassas, Virginia.
The successful candidate will lead and mentor a team of six EHS professionals, working directly with the project leadership to ensure a proactive and robust safety culture. This role requires a hands-on leader who can drive compliance, conduct thorough inspections, and implement effective safety programs from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Management: Oversee and provide mentorship to a team of six EHS professionals.
- Program Development: Develop, implement, and maintain the site-specific EHS program, ensuring full compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
- Site Inspections: Conduct daily EHS inspections and document findings to ensure all project activities are in accordance with the EHS plan.
- Training & Onboarding: Lead site-specific EHS orientations and deliver targeted training modules to project personnel.
- Incident Management: Investigate all incidents to identify root causes and develop corrective and preventative actions to prevent recurrence.
- Strategic Partnership: Collaborate closely with project leadership, client representatives, and trade contractor EHS teams to foster a unified, injury-free work environment.
- Risk Mitigation: Proactively participate in the Daily Hazard Analysis process and manage crane activities to identify and mitigate potential risks.
- Performance Analysis: Collect and analyze leading and lagging indicators to identify trends, address emerging concerns, and report on project EHS performance.
- Compliance & Audits: Review contractor EHS plans and conduct regular audits to ensure adherence to safety standards.
Qualifications
- Experience: 5+ years of dedicated EHS experience, with a strong focus on large-scale commercial or industrial construction projects, preferably data centers.
- Leadership: Proven track record of successfully leading and managing a team of EHS professionals.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and a working knowledge of EHS management software.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
Education & Certifications
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field is highly preferred.
- Required: OSHA 30-Hour Construction.
- Highly Desired: OSHA 500/510, ASP, CSP, CHST, or STSC certifications.
