Position Summary:
Reporting to the Director of Utility Infrastructure, the Project Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing infrastructure projects from start to finish. This role requires a strong background in wet utilities and civil construction, with extensive knowledge in water, sewer, and storm drain systems. The ideal candidate will lead teams, manage budgets, and ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and in alignment with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all phases of wet utilities and civil construction projects, from planning and scheduling to execution and closeout.
- Oversee installation of water, sewer, storm drain systems, and related infrastructure.
- Develop project scopes, budgets, and timelines, ensuring alignment with company goals and client expectations.
- Coordinate with inspectors, subcontractors, and field teams to ensure proper execution of work.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, and local codes.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, quality, and safety.
- Identify and mitigate project risks and resolve issues that may arise.
- Manage project documentation, including contracts, RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
- Track project costs and schedules, providing regular updates to stakeholders.
- Lead project meetings with clients, vendors, and internal teams to ensure alignment and communication.
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of project management experience in wet utilities and civil construction.
- Strong knowledge of wet utility systems (water, sewer, stormwater) and civil site work.
- Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Heavy Job, MS Project).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Familiarity with local regulations and safety standards.
- PMP or similar certification is a plus.
- Experience managing commercial, public works or municipal infrastructure projects.
- Strong negotiation skills for contracts and change orders.
