Talon Hiring Solutions is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist/Programmer to join our client's production team in Birmingham, AL. The ideal candidate will be skilled in operating CNC lathes and mills, with a keen eye for detail, strong problem-solving skills, and a solid understanding of machining principles.
What you will do:
- Program CNC machines using G-code and/or CAM software (e.g., GibbsCAM, Fusion 360)
- Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T specifications
- Set up and operate CNC lathes and mills
- Select optimal tools, speeds, and feeds for various materials
- Diagnose and resolve machining or programming issues
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Partner with engineering and production teams to improve processes
What you bring:
- 2+ years of CNC machining and programming experience
- Skilled in blueprint reading and precision measuring tools
- Experience with CNC control systems (e.g., Fanuc)
- Strong knowledge of machining speeds/feeds, tooling, and materials
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training/certifications preferred
- Dependable, detail-oriented, and committed to quality work
