Summary:

Under the guidance of the department leadership, this role is responsible for executing production engineering strategies and tactical plans at the Plant. The position collaborates with the leadership team to establish priorities and objectives and ensures their effective implementation. This role supports production engineering, while acting as a strategic partner to other departments across the organization. This role exercises independent judgment regularly while operating within established guidelines.

Must Haves

1. 5-6 years of solid control/production experience – some mechanical involvement

2. Vision systems (cameras) – use Keyence – some cognex (LG, VS) looking at improvements and will be adding more (AI as well)

3. project management knowledge / experience – how do you prioritize your work if everything is considered a priority?

Essential Functions:

  • Support senior engineers in designing, planning, and coordinating production-related projects.
  • Analyze and improve manufacturing processes with a focus on quality, efficiency, cost, and equipment performance.
  • Assist in identifying and resolving production issues related to equipment, technology, and workflow.
  • Collaborate with departments such as Quality, Maintenance, and Production to ensure smooth implementation of process changes or improvements.
  • Research and communicate with suppliers to determine equipment and material specifications; assist in purchasing decisions.
  • Evaluate new or existing products and equipment to ensure they meet technical and quality standards.
  • Use technical knowledge to troubleshoot problems and recommend effective solutions.
  • Read, interpret, and create technical drawings and schematics as needed.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing, with team members and other departments.

Knowledge, skills & abilities:

Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Possess ability to perform duties utilizing current company software applications (including, but not limited to: Microsoft Office, Outlook, Teams, and current ERP system). Excellent interpersonal, organizational, verbal and written communication skills required. This position performs job duties in an ethical and professional manner.
