Accounting Manager212 W 2nd St, Winona, MN 55987HEADDFull-time Shift(s): MON TUE WED THU FRI 7:00am - 6:00pmOVERVIEW:Working as Full-time Accounting Manager, you will enjoy the opportunity of providing corporate accounting leadership for accounting teams that support Fastenal's world-wide locations. The individual selected for this position will oversee our accounting teams focused on external reporting, technical accounting, accounts payable expense, and fixed assets, which will require a strong focus on technical accounting research, maintaining compliance with US GAAP and SEC rules and regulations.RESPONSIBILITIES:The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:oProviding strategic leadership to teams processing financial accounting operationsoCoordinating related financial statement close and audit activitiesoEnsuring compliance with accounting principles and related internal controlsoOverseeing system enhancements and development projectsoImplementing initiatives supporting company growth drivers and operational efficienciesoEstablishing strategic goals for training, developing, and motivating othersoEvaluating and assigning resources to achieve operational objectivesoPerforming special projects and other administrative tasks as necessaryREQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:The following skills and qualifications are required for this position:oPosses a bachelor's degree in accountingo Possess at least 5 years of accounting work experienceoExcellent written and oral communication skillsoHighly motivated, self directed and customer service orientedoExhibit strong problem solving, deductive reasoning and decision making skillsoDemonstrate strong organization, planning and prioritizing abilitiesoWork independently as well as in a team environmentoDemonstrate our core values of ambition, innovation, integrity and teamworkoProficient using Microsoft Office Suite, with emphasis on ExceloPass the required drug test (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico and Guam ONLY)PREFERRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:oCPA certification with prior work experience in public accountingoPrevious experience using PeopleSoft systemsoPrevious experience using OneStream softwareoPrevious experience using Blackline softwareABOUT US:Since 1967 Fastenal has grown as a distributor of industrial and construction supplies from a single branch to a Fortune 500 company with over 3,000 servicing locations, each providing tailored local inventory and personal service for our customers.
