Donor Relations Director – Staff Position

JOB SUMMARY: Reporting to the Vice President for Advancement, this position is responsible for developing, coordinating, and implementing the annual fund program. The role involves building relationships with all constituent groups, including alumni, parents, and students, through travel, events, activities, and long-term projects that engage and involve constituents to support advancement initiatives and campaign activity.

DEPARTMENT: Advancement

QUALIFICATIONS: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel. Strong interpersonal skills, organizational abilities, attention to detail, and time management skills. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a team-oriented environment. Willingness to travel and work occasional evenings and weekends.

A. Education: Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.

B. Experience: Administrative duties and customer service etiquette.

C. Abilities:

  • Office management and coordination skills.
  • Independent decision-making, good judgment, accuracy, flexibility, and critical thinking.
  • Ability to work amidst shifting priorities, interruptions, and a fast-paced environment with high interaction with students, staff, and the public.
  • Knowledge of computer software such as Word, Excel, and mainframe systems.
  • Excellent written communication skills, including proficiency in business English, grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
  • Discretion handling confidential matters.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively to meet deadlines.
  • Customer service skills, including reception etiquette.
  • Proficiency with office machines like fax, scanner, and copier.

REPORTS TO: Vice President for Advancement

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Promote education with a focus on Leadership and Technology, embodying Quaker principles of simplicity, peace, integrity, community, and equality.
  • Represent the university positively to prospective, current, and former students, employees, and the community.
  • Demonstrate enthusiasm, motivation, and a positive attitude in interactions.
  • Interpret departmental and college policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate harmoniously with others.
  • Support student learning through performance.
  • Coordinate the annual fund program to increase alumni participation.
  • Establish and nurture relationships for donor stewardship.
  • Make approximately 15 face-to-face contacts per month.
  • Cultivate relationships with IYM churches.
  • Manage a portfolio of 100 prospects at the giving club level.
  • Coordinate at least 3 direct mail appeals targeting specific audiences.
  • Oversee a phone-a-thon with 1,500 calls, including hiring and training staff.
  • Develop and organize WP Day event.
  • Assist the VP for Advancement in development initiatives and campaigns.
  • Support volunteer and alumni relations programs as needed.
  • Coordinate special events within the Advancement Office.
  • Develop campus activities to boost enrollment and revenue.
  • Travel to promote William Penn University and collaborate with staff to implement development programs.

EVALUATION: Performance will be evaluated per policies established by the William Penn University Board of Directors.
