The IT Project Manager applies standard project management practices to initiate, plan, execute, monitor, mitigate risk, and close projects of varying size and complexity. This role involves building and leading cross-functional teams, aligning technical solutions with business goals, and ensuring project outcomes are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget. Clear communication skills are essential for conveying project goals, progress, and outcomes to stakeholders through written documentation, presentations, and meetings. The position requires ongoing collaboration with internal stakeholders, vendors, and IT service providers, as well as a high degree of visibility to develop trusted partnerships, identify opportunities for process improvement, and support long-term strategic planning.Essential Functions And ResponsibilitiesProject Initiation:Defines, estimates, and presents new project requests outlining scope, schedule, budget, resources, risks and return on investment (ROI) to obtain executive level approval.Conducts project kick-off and status update meetings to guarantee timely delivery of deliverables while proactively addressing project risks and scheduling conflicts.Project PlanningDevelops and maintains client's annual project roadmap, ensuring feasibility while coordinating and prioritizing both planned and unexpected project requests.Develops and manages project plans ensuring all deliverables and milestones are identified and accounted for with responsibility and due dates assigned.Develops and implements detailed project communication plans to ensure timely updates and transparency is maintained throughout the life of the project.Collaborates with project team and stakeholders to identify, document, and define traceability of business, system, and network requirements.Guides teams through the planning, design, development, testing, training, and implementation phases of projects with varying complexity.Project ExecutionDevelops and maintains client's annual project roadmap, ensuring feasibility while coordinating and prioritizing both planned and unexpected project requests.Develops and manages project plans ensuring all deliverables and milestones are identified and accounted for with responsibility and due dates assigned.Develops and implements detailed project communication plans to ensure timely updates and transparency is maintained throughout the life of the project.Collaborates with project team and stakeholders to identify, document, and define traceability of business, system, and network requirements.Guides teams through the planning, design, development, testing, training, and implementation phases of projects with varying complexity.Project Monitoring And ControlDefines and controls project scope of work, purpose, business value, risks and assumptions with the client and project resources.Provides reports to an agreed schedule (or upon request), that include Risk Mitigation and overall project status updates (e.g., red, yellow, green summary status).Reviews project deliverables at every phase to ensure accuracy, quality, and completeness.Monitors and reconciles project expenses to ensure they align with the planned budget, managing and controlling overall project cost.Manages and communicates project risk with respect to predictive analysis, problem solving, communication, and controlling project impact.Communicates effectively and creates change orders with clients based upon modifications in scope or when issues are identified that impact timelines and/or budgets.Stakeholder And Vendor OversightServes as the primary information technology liaison with assigned departments/clients to ensure overall IT support and solutions delivered with quality and timeliness.Establishes and maintains a high degree of visibility with assigned departments/clients to ensure overall IT support and solutions are delivered with quality and timeliness.Documents and manages Requests for Proposals (RFP) for new technology requests.Leads vendor and contract management on each project, ensuring adherence to scope, deliverables, escalation, and payment terms.Collaborates with assigned departments to create and define annual and 5-year budget outlooks for IT related items (e.g., projects, hardware, software).Process Improvement And InnovationsEnsures technology solutions are secure, compliant, and continuously optimized to utilize product features to their fullest potential.Aligns project goals with the organization's long-term objectives, ensuring that all projects contribute to the overall business strategy and deliver maximum value.Maintains and expands on Information Technology knowledge through attendance of seminars, workshops, and other media to stay current and drive new solutions.IT Service ManagementManages overall assigned client IT service requests and incidents to ensure quality and timely resolution based on service level requirements.Manages IT procurement for assigned clients, including obtaining quotes through the verification of implementation and final payment.Operates an automobile to perform assigned job functions.Performs related duties as assigned.QualificationsRequired Education and ExperienceA Minimum Of One Of The Following

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Project Management, Information Technology or a related field and at least three (3) years of experience in project management
  • Associate's Degree (or a minimum of 60 completed credit hours) from an accredited college or university in Project Management, Information Technology or a related field and at least seven (7) years of experience in project management
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent and active industry certification in Project Management and at least nine (9) years of experience in project management
Preferred Education And Experience
  • Experience in overseeing and directing the work of others
  • Experience implementing complex information technology projects
  • Experience in managing infrastructure and network projects
  • Experience in managing projects for Software as a Service and on-premise environments
  • Experience in using project management tools to manage projects and create roadmaps
Required Licenses Or Certifications
  • Possession of a valid Michigan driver's license and operable, insured automobile for authorized travel
Preferred Licenses Or Certifications
  • Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • Certifications issued by Project Management Institute (PMI)
  • Project Management certifications from an accredited college
