GENERAL FUNCTION

The Assistant Manager acts as a leader in the absence of, or in support of, the Store Manager. They behave as a business owner within the marketplace & LensCrafters organization, representing the store as the premier destination for vision needs and delivering key performance metrics.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Deliver quality and improvements to exceed all KPIs: sales, conversion, customer count, growth, traffic, profitability, care continuity, exam growth, retention, NPS, and objectives.
  • Understand retail business to drive sales, results, and market understanding.
  • Support store business plans to maximize sales and profit.
  • Partner with the store manager to lead and develop the team.
  • Provide clear, constructive, and timely feedback; collaborate on staff development.
  • Execute visual directives and maintain store appearance.
  • Maintain positive relationships with doctors.
  • Ensure team compliance with policies.
  • Perform administrative duties.
  • Work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 1+ year of management/supervisory experience with direct reports.
  • Knowledge of retail operations, processes, and policies.
  • Strong basic math skills.
  • Familiarity with cash registers, computers, and calculators.
  • Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.
  • Strong communication and listening skills.
  • Proven high-level selling skills.
  • Ability to problem solve.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • College degree or equivalent.
  • Leadership experience in retail and customer service.
  • Knowledge of basic optics.
  • Knowledge of current store merchandise.
  • State licensure or ABO Certification (if applicable).
  • Brand Final Inspector Certification.
  • Brand Quality, Fitting & Adjusting Program.
