Job Duties: Vice President with Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC in New York, New York. Design, develop, and support software components related to large scale search applications that can scale to billions of documents and ingest millions of new documents every day. Gather user requirements, identify new areas of improvement, and implement large scale data and computational changes in the search platform. Push high quality, modular, secure, testable and maintainable code related to various components of the search using techniques like Hadoop and HBase. Contribute to designing new features which seamlessly integrate and scale up with other parts of a large-scale search platform. Solve large-scale information retrieval and data mining problems. Improve the performance of the large-scale retrieval and ranking systems by identifying features for improvement and tuning the models to be deployed to production. Handle large amounts of structured and unstructured data and implementing solutions to extract meaningful signals out of it. Mentor the junior team members to help them deliver on the tasks.
Job Requirements: Master's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role OR Bachelor's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role. Must have three (3) years of experience (with a Master's degree) or five (5) years of experience (with a Bachelor's degree) with: working with industrial software systems, including data structures, time and space complexity, object-oriented design, and handling multi-threaded systems; designing and developing software in an object-oriented language such as Java; working with Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) best practices, fundamentals of software testing, build processes and source code management; working with knowledge graph, natural language processing (NLP), or information retrieval projects; working with real-time distributed data processing platform such as Hadoop or SQL or NoSQL databases such as HBase of high volume of data; and working on Unix-like systems and version control tools such GIT or SVN.
Salary Range: The expected annual base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $182,000 - $250,000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
