Position SummaryFiftyForward is seeking a dynamic and mission-driven Center Director to lead the operations of our Madison Station location. As the primary representative of FiftyForward in the Madison community, the Center Director is responsible for the strategic leadership, daily operations, community engagement, staff supervision, program development, and financial sustainability of the center. This role is critical to advancing our mission of supporting, engaging, and enhancing the lives of older adults.
Job ResponsibilitiesKey Responsibilities1. Leadership & StrategyLead the planning, implementation, and evaluation of all programs and services at Madison Station.
Collaborate with the FiftyForward leadership team to align center goals with organizational strategy.
Ensure annual goals are met in the areas of programming, membership, financials, and community impact.
2. Daily Operations & Staff SupervisionManage day-to-day operations and ensure the safety and well-being of all members, guests, and staff.
Supervise and support staff performance, including hiring, training, evaluation, and, if necessary, termination.
Monitor center budget and operations to ensure financial accountability.
3. Community Engagement & OutreachServe as a visible and engaged leader in the Madison community.
Build strong partnerships with local businesses, faith-based groups, schools, civic organizations, and senior advocates.
Promote a positive image of aging and the impact of FiftyForward's mission.
Participate in the annual budgeting process and ensure fiscal alignment throughout the year.
Lead all center-based fundraising initiatives in collaboration with the development team.
Write and manage center-specific grants, including compliance and reporting.
5. Facility OversightCoordinate with the Facilities Manager to ensure proper building maintenance, safety, and rental usage.
Oversee use of center space and resources to maximize community benefit.
6. Advisory Council & Stakeholder RelationsServe as the staff liaison to the Madison Station Advisory Council and relevant committees.
Support council activities and engage members in planning, outreach, and fundraising efforts.
7. Communication & Public RelationsPartner with the Communications Director to implement consistent marketing and branding strategies.
Represent FiftyForward Madison Station at community and professional events.
8. Reporting & ComplianceEnsure accurate documentation and timely submission of all program data and reports.
Comply with agency policies and funder requirements.
9. Internal CollaborationFoster intentional collaboration with other FiftyForward programs and centers to strengthen agency-wide impact.
QualificationsQualificationsEducationRequired: Bachelor's degree in social services, nonprofit management, or a related field
Preferred: Master's degree in social work, public administration, or a related discipline
Experience4–7 years of experience in a social services or nonprofit setting
Proven leadership and staff supervision skills
Experience working with older adults
Success in community engagement, resource development, and strategic partnerships
SkillsStrong oral and written communication
Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
Ability to cultivate strong relationships with staff, volunteers, donors, and community partners
Special RequirementsValid driver's license and clean driving record
Current automobile liability insurance
Willingness to drive a 13–15 passenger van as needed
Flexibility to work occasional early mornings, evenings, or weekends
Ability to attend off-site events and meetings
Smoke-free office environment
