Program Overview :
We are currently seeking a Lead Power Supply Design Engineer to join a growing design team supporting power conversion circuit card development. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing low and high voltage, high frequency switch-mode power supplies and will collaborate with senior engineers across disciplines to meet rigorous performance, thermal, emissions, and safety requirements.
Job Responsibilities :
Design AC / DC and DC / DC power converters
Develop power distribution architectures and EMI filters
Analyze analog / power circuits for stability, efficiency, and performance
Write specifications and develop test approaches for circuit designs
Select components for discrete designs or modules for system integration
Create schematics and support printed circuit board (PCB) layout
Conduct peer design reviews and oversee design verification testing
Perform analog and power testing in a lab environment
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including digital, RF, mechanical, and systems engineers
Required Skills :
Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 9 years of relevant power supply / electrical engineering experience; OR
Master's degree and a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience; OR
12 years of equivalent work experience in lieu of a degree
Preferred Skills :
Proficiency in power conversion design and analog circuit simulation
Experience with control loop stabilization and high-frequency magnetics
Hands-on knowledge of AC / DC & DC / DC power converters
Power analysis with MathCad, Excel, or equivalent tools
Experience using SIMPLIS and SPICE for electrical simulations
Proficiency with CAD tools for schematic entry and PCB layout (Mentor Graphics preferred)
Familiarity with MIL-STD-704, MIL-STD-1275, MIL-STD-1399, and MIL-STD-461
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate in high-performance teams
Willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed
Experience with standard lab test equipment
Prior work in rugged or military-grade electronics environments
U.S. Department of Defense security clearance eligibility is preferred
Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio Software
Design experience in military or other ruggedized industries
