Job Shift: Full Time

Description

Managing 1-3 locations, the Site Supervisor position is responsible for all programmatic, financial/business, and staffing aspects of Catalyst Family Inc. licensed child care centers and supports the agency's program goals. The position provides oversight of the planning, implementation, assessment, reflection, and program requirements for children ranging in age from infant/toddlers, pre-school, and school age, depending on the site. Site Supervisors are occasionally in ratio and are also a classroom/program leader that must be able to coach, mentor and provide observation and feedback to teaching staff that results in the implementation of quality programming. They are integral in leading the center staff to ensure all children receive quality staff-child interactions and are supervised, at all times, in a safe and healthy environment.

Essential Job Functions:

Program Quality

  • Liaison for communicating Catalyst Family Inc. mission, philosophy, and curriculum approaches to staff, parents, school personnel, the community, and State and local government agencies as needed
  • Ensures streamlined processes for documented learning from observations/anecdotes to lesson plans, documentation, all assessments, internal and external reviews.
  • Shares program information and assessment results with the center, supports and mentors' teachers in the creation and implementation and evaluation/completion of center action plans through diverse strategies or approaches
  • Collaborates with center staff to provide an enriched, dynamic environment, that meets the diverse and cultural needs and interests of children, utilizes staff, family and community expertise, and is clean and well maintained and meets agency and industry standards (ERS)
  • Creates Behavior Action Plans with family members and provides tools and resources to supports implementation of agreed upon strategies
  • Supports regularly scheduled PAC meetings and trainings
  • Identify ways to improve the performance of the center, follow center budget guidelines, and take proactive actions to support center enrollment and marketing
  • Develop and implement a profitable budget for the center(s) by following budget guidelines.
  • Ensure full enrollment and attendance at the center(s); earn all ADE if applicable.
  • Take full responsibility for the successful financial performance of the center(s). Develop immediate corrective action plans as necessary to address underperformance.
  • Ensure full compliance with all corporate policies and procedures.
  • Protect and maintain control over all company assets and resources.
  • Implement effective billing, collections, and reporting processes to ensure full, timely collection of all private and public monies owed.
  • Conduct all purchasing for the center(s) and ensure that staffing levels and other expenses are managed prudently. Control all costs through prudent purchasing of materials and services and careful management of staffing ratios.
  • Identify ways to improve the financial performance of the center(s) and take proactive actions to grow the business.

People and Performance Management

  • Act as a change agent to advocate, communicate and implement organizational changes in values, systems and processes.
  • Continuously assess and forecast staffing needs in consideration of business needs and changing environment. Implement effective job-matching techniques to create more full-time positions, and develop internal candidates for new positions.
  • Encourage all staff to act as recruiters, promote the employee referral program, and help recruit new staff through strong relationships with parents, schools and communities.
  • Screen, interview and hire best candidates to match the needs of the center(s).
  • Orient and integrate new staff into the team to achieve high staff retention.
  • Set and communicate clear job expectations. Ensure that individual and team goals are aligned with company goals, and hold people accountable to these goals and high performance expectations.
  • Manage staff performance proactively; coach, support and provide feedback to staff regularly so that they can deliver their best.
  • Facilitate staff retention, talent management and capacity building. Develop professional growth plans and provide opportunities for continuous growth and development.
  • Nurture team spirit in the center(s) and maintain high staff morale.
  • Build workplace culture by communicating the mission and vision, modeling workplace values and promoting actions/behaviors consistent with these values.
  • Facilitate highly effective, participatory team meetings that foster ownership for expected outcomes.
  • Provides on-site mentoring and modeling in the classroom. Trains and mentors teaching staff as needed, including frequently observing weekly lesson plans to include a range of age appropriate activities that support social emotional, physical, cognitive development, observe impact of curriculum implementation, and provide relevant and constructive feedback

Community Partnership

  • Represent center/agency at school and community events
  • Provide excellent customer service by establishing and maintaining authentic connections and reciprocal, culturally responsive relationships with children, youth, families, schools, communities and center/classroom team
  • Participate in activities at the school (PBIS meetings, IEP meetings, PTO events, etc.) acting as a representative of the agency

Compliance

  • Provides coaching, mentoring, and observation and feedback to teaching staff in order to achieve and maintain quality programming
  • In Center Manager's absence maintain compliance to all regulating agencies
  • Ensure full compliance with all agency policies and procedures and protect agency assets and resources.
Qualifications

Education

The MINIMUM formal relevant education required by the position. Experience in lieu of education will be counted as part of the formal education required. NOTE: Minimum education requirements may change as needed based on state requirements.

  • Minimum AA degree with 24 ECE/CD units, 6 units in administration and 2 units in adult supervision; or BA with 12 units of ECE/CD, plus 3 units of supervised field experience in ECE
  • Site Supervisor permit preferred or expected to acquire Site Supervisor permit upon hire

Experience

The MINIMUM relevant experience necessary to qualify for the position. Experience in lieu of education is to be counted as part of formal Education and not as part of the required experience.

  • 3 to 4 years' experience in ECE/CD field
  • 1 year of experience mentoring and leading other adults or teaching staff preferred
