Job Description :

As a Software Delivery Manager at VGM HOMELINK, your primary focus is to lead day-to-day operations of an agile development team, responsible for providing leadership, direction, and motivation, ensuring the team is meeting goals and objectives. The Delivery Manager plays a pivotal role in shaping the delivery of services and products for the HOMELINK IT team. As Delivery Manager, you will work with multidisciplinary teams to monitor project progress, tackle potential concerns, and continually optimize for better efficiency. Ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and up to client requirements is key to success.

Reporting Accountability:VP of IT - HOMELINK

Working Hours:Full-Time, 8am-5pm+ CST Monday-Friday

Working Location: On-Site in Waterloo, Iowa preferred, open to remote and hybrid working locations

Responsibilities/Duties of the Delivery Manager

  • Implement and focus the team on strategy and expectations from senior leadership, business stakeholders and all business partners
  • Direct and motivate team for high functioning performance
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality software through rigorous testing, code reviews and adherence to best practices while maintaining high output
  • Listen, address and follow-up on teammate concerns, questions, and problems
  • Train, evaluate and verify employee performance through the review of completed work assignment, work techniques, objectives, initiatives, and data driven facts
  • Plan, organize, maintain, and manage the processes and operations of the team
  • Establish, plan, document and implement policies and procedures to support the operation
  • Guide team development efforts towards successful project/enhancement delivery
  • Provide technical leadership, coaching and mentorship
  • Conduct employee performance reviews per company policy and handle any disciplinary actions
  • Facilitate regular and timely communication regarding team progress risks, outcomes, KPIs, productivity and other data points to all business partners, management and Corp IT
  • Maintain, support, and develop all IT-related systems, operations, and services necessary to ensure optimal performance of company infrastructure
  • Maintain the integrity and security of all company data
  • Make recommendations regarding system management, improvements, and enhancements
  • Identify risks in projects and teams, taking proactive steps to mitigate and consistently strive for improvement
  • Lead by example and inspire others to follow the company's guiding principles
  • Develop IT policies and procedures
  • Orchestrate the development of software products from conception to deployment
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose problems
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Delivery Manager Qualifications

Education and experience:

  • 5+ years of proven experience leading software development
  • 5+ years of experience developing software and delivering technical solutions with Agile development methodologies
  • Proven successful experience in a technical leadership position managing direct reports in a technical product delivery environment
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Certified Product Manager (CPM) strongly preferred
  • Degree in Software Engineering, Software Development, Computer Science or related field, or equivalent working experience

Skills and competencies:

  • Proficient in Agile, Scrum, SAFe, Kanban, Lean
  • Advanced knowledge and/or experience with core Microsoft .Net technologies
  • Comprehensive understanding of object-oriented and service-oriented application development techniques and theories
  • Self-motivated and able to work proficiently both independently and in a team environment
  • Exemplary communication skills with both internal team members and external business stakeholders
  • Initiative to find ways to improve solutions, systems, and processes
  • Strong conceptualization, analytical, and logical skills

Physical Requirements:

  • Working at a physical desk, moving about the office and facility as needed for work
  • Operation of office machinery and equipment
  • Visual abilities to include reading, distance vision and peripheral vision

Compensation Overview

The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.
