Middle Market Banking Specialty Relationship Manager I

This position is for an associate business development banker focused on supporting and servicing relationships with commercial clients in the Middle Market Corporate Banking Group, a team within Capital One Bank's commercial banking division. This role supports the senior relationship managers in creating value-add pitchbooks, supporting credit approvals, analyzing financials, completing pre-screen deal memos, managing prospecting databases and assisting with data research, analysis and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Complete pre-screen deal memos including analysis of industry and company financial condition, key risks and mitigants application of pricing models and evaluations of the viability and profitability of the opportunity.
  • Ownership of pre-screen deal memos through early read stage and direct involvement throughout the credit approval process including working to answer questions from credit, note taking, completing AML KYC as well as joining all deal team, diligence and legal calls.
  • Assist in the preparation of customer presentations and term sheets, as well as manage the pipeline activity for sales reps and managers.
  • Utilizing key company and capital structure metrics from multiple sources to create a fully comprehensive and up to date prospect universe.
  • Identifying most actionable prospects and applicable calling strategies. Mine Salesforce.com and outside databases to keep data current, and to identify and prioritize private equity firms and their key decision-makers.
  • Participate in business development networking activities.
  • This role is not being offered as remote.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or military experience.
  • At least 2 years of banking experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's in Business Administration.
  • At least 3 years of experience in banking.
  • Experience in Corporate Sales or Corporate Risk.
  • Completion of a formal commercial credit training program.
  • Proficient in MS Office; Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Salesforce.com.

Salary Information:The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location:

  • Anytown, IL: $115,900 - $132,200
  • McLean, VA: $127,500 - $145,500
  • New York, NY: $139,100 - $158,700
  • Richmond, VA: $115,900 - $132,200

This role is also eligible to earn performance-based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long-term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non-discretionary depending on the plan.
