The Purchasing Accounts Manager leads and develops the purchasing accounts team with a focus on accuracy, efficiency, and relational stewardship. This leader is responsible for ensuring all account statements with supplier and manufacturer partners are actively maintained and resolved, preventing any past due balances. They will oversee company-wide VPO approvals and home starts, ensuring streamlined processes and excellent cross-functional collaboration. With a passion for continuous improvement, this role will also drive system enhancements that build greater operational efficiency and long-term value.

Core Functions

  • Lead and Develop the Purchasing Accounts Team: Cultivate a team culture rooted in excellence, trust, and relational accountability. Provide consistent coaching and support to help each team member grow in skill and ownership.
  • Manage Supplier and Manufacturer Account Statements: Ensure all financial accounts with supplier and manufacturer partners are accurate, current, and reconciled, proactively resolving discrepancies and preventing overdue balances.
  • Oversee VPO Approval Process Across All Regions: Lead the accurate and timely processing of all Variance Purchase Orders, ensuring alignment with company standards and budget expectations.
  • Champion Process Improvement and System Efficiency: Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies in purchasing workflows; collaborate cross-functionally to design and implement sustainable solutions.
  • Steward Financial Integrity and Transparency: Uphold a standard of excellence in financial stewardship by maintaining accurate records, supporting audits, and ensuring internal controls are followed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in accounting or finance
  • General understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Prior leadership experience, including managing a team or overseeing individuals

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

  • Vision for near, mid-range and far as well as hearing for low, medium, and high pitch.
  • Superior communication skills with co-workers, customers, trade partners and vendors.
  • Requires physical ability for standing, sitting, crouching, kneeling, frequent walking, reaching above head and below waist.
  • Must have a current and valid driver's license and must be able to be insured by company fleet insurance.

Hours and Schedule

  • Average 40 hours per week (8am-5pm, M-F).
  • Minimal travel required for company events and inter-region collaboration.
