GENERAL FUNCTION:

What is a De Novo? A De Novo is a new location that is being opened and staffed from the ground up.

As a De Novo Financial Center Manager, you are responsible for creating a highly engaged culture and growing a new branch from ground up. Starting a branch with zero customers is a challenging and rewarding task! The Financial Center Manager focuses on developing new relationships and being actively involved in your community as the local Fifth Third brand ambassador. You must have a business owner mindset, be comfortable with outside business development, and have prior experience in outside sales or calling efforts.

The Financial Center Manager will participate in a comprehensive, customized onboarding and education program, including rotations in Operations, Sales & Service, Lending, Small Business, and Management. This program prepares successful candidates for the Financial Center Manager role. After completing the training, the FCMA will be placed in a Financial Center.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

De Novo FCM Responsibilities:

  • Engage with local chambers, community groups, and events to represent Fifth Third Bank, promoting the branch and building networks for new customer acquisition.
  • Develop a business plan focusing on local influencers and centers of influence to build relationships and drive new customer business.
  • Provide excellent customer service, including needs assessments and customer satisfaction evaluations.
  • Lead community-benefiting activities and use a consultative sales process to identify customer needs and offer solutions.
  • Grow and deepen customer relationships by providing memorable experiences.

FCMA Responsibilities:

  • Complete the FCMA roadmap and onboarding activities, including a Consultative Selling Skills Certification.
  • Deepen customer relationships and provide excellent service.
  • Maintain knowledge of Fifth Third's products, services, and resources to guide and lead the team.
  • Proactively identify customer needs and recommend solutions.
  • Develop an integrated book of business strategy, ensuring all customers receive appropriate support.
  • Source, develop, coach, and lead a team aligned with company values and strategies.
  • Cultivate a collaborative, One Bank culture.
  • Participate in community activities and adhere to the company's code of conduct and policies.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide timely, constructive feedback; develop employees; recognize achievements; ensure talent pool development for succession planning.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • College degree or 2+ years leadership experience in a sales environment preferred.
  • Experience in finance and managing P&L preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, credit analysis ability, and sales coaching skills.
  • Business acumen and sound decision-making abilities.
  • S.A.F.E. Act registration via NMLS required at employment.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Office environment with 3-5 hours daily in outside business development.
  • Extended computer screen time and periodic travel within the Bancorp footprint.
