Job Description :

CommuniCare Health Services is currently recruiting for a Full-Time Director of Plant Maintenance to oversee maintenance operations at our Southbrook Healthcare Center location.

Purpose/Belief Statement:

The Director of Plant Maintenance is responsible for hiring and directing staff, providing dependable maintenance services according to CommuniCare Health Services standards, and improving operating efficiencies to generate profit. The incumbent must present a professional image, take a proactive approach in maintaining the centers, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations such as OSHA, OBRA, NFPA, EPA, JCAHO, and the State Department of Health. The role involves supervising, training, and providing hands-on assistance, maintaining a safe, clean, and homelike environment for residents, and working closely with the Center Administrator and other CHS facilities.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Prepare work schedules.
  • Supervise activities of the maintenance team to ensure goals are met.
  • Prepare and administer the annual maintenance budget.
  • Conduct environmental rounds.
  • Plan, develop, and schedule preventive maintenance.
  • Manage contracts for outsourced maintenance activities.
  • Perform maintenance activities as required.
  • Evaluate staffing needs in the maintenance department.
  • Monitor inventory levels of supplies.
  • Participate in safety, hazardous materials, and other committees.
  • Maintain records of repairs and expenses to predict equipment lifespan and future costs.
  • Perform other related activities as assigned.
  • Qualifications & Experience Requirements:

    • Associates Degree in a related field preferred or equivalent experience, plus 3 to 5 years of related experience.
    • At least 3 years of management or supervisory experience in a related field.
