If you can combine event leadership with genuine advocacy, this position is yours.What You Will Be Doing
- Crafting and implementing a dynamic events strategy that attracts enrollment from Alpha's target demographic: high-net-worth families seeking top-tier academic results.
- Developing reusable frameworks for key events—such as TEDx-style student exhibitions, crucial information sessions, and Shadow Days—that vividly illustrate the Alpha model.
- Handling vendor selection, contracts, payments, and performance across multiple locations.
- Managing 5–10 simultaneous events, leading on-site issue resolution and cross-departmental collaboration.
- Representing Alpha in prominent settings—from hosting to engaging families individually—with the authority and presence to champion our mission.

- Following someone else's blueprint or awaiting detailed instructions.
- Organizing generic, uninspired events that could belong to any institution.
- Delegating the Alpha message to external agencies or scripted hosts.
- Shying away from bold, challenging discussions about rigor, acceleration, and achievement.
Director Of Event Management Key ResponsibilitiesEstablish a scalable, impactful events function that transforms the right families into Alpha supporters by showcasing the rigor, efficiency, and results of our model with authority and authenticity.Basic Requirements
- 3+ years of comprehensive, end-to-end event management in roles focused on events, handling budgets from $5K to $50K.
- Demonstrated ability to independently understand and act upon the motivations, expectations, and social nuances of high-net-worth families—without detailed guidance.
- Capacity to credibly present Alpha's model and value proposition to discerning audiences, combining operational excellence with compelling storytelling.
- Stage presence, confidence, and proficiency in engaging both large audiences and in one-on-one discussions.
- Excellent vendor negotiation and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Based in Austin, TX or willing to relocate (relocation assistance available); 75%+ on-site presence required.
- Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Nice-to-have Requirements
- Experience in education, nonprofit, or startup event management.
- Knowledge of Austin's event and vendor ecosystem.
- Proficiency in budget management, including cost control and procurement.
- Experience in expanding event operations across multiple markets.
