Position Accountabilities and Essential Functions:
The successful candidate must demonstrate experience, skills, and commitment to fostering an environment of belonging, diversity, equity and inclusion in students, faculty and staff.Position SummaryThis person is responsible for the overall management of academic occupational programs in the Division of Health and Wellness and the Division of Business and Technology, and Workforce Strategies department. The position leads in collaboration with the Associate Deans and Faculty Coordinators, in curriculum development and revision, as well as course and program assessment, new program development and recommends program elimination when indicated. This position supervises the Associate Deans of Health and Wellness and Business and Technology Divisions, Faculty Coordinators and faculty and staff from both divisions. The position works closely with the Dean of Transfer Programs and Online Learning.
This position is responsible for the managing the federal Perkins grant including chairing the Perkins Steering Committee, writing annual reports, coordinating the expenditure of Perkins funds to support occupational programs and students, and assisting in the development of budget reports, and the development and implementation of the Comprehensive Local Needs Assessment ( CLNA ). The position also leads the College's Program Review process, which includes distribution of the program review cycle timeline and appropriate data to Faculty Coordinators, and ensuring programs are reviewed at least once every 5 years. This position develops and implements a Program Review Committee to assist in facilitating the process.
This person is also responsible for reviewing, identifying, and leading possible grants that align with enrollment, retention, and completion of adults in certificates, degrees, short certificates, and micro-credentials and non-credit work, with the goal of expediting movement of graduates into the workforce either as a terminal goal, or while they are completing other occupational certificates or degrees to meet the needs of business, industry, and our healthcare partners.
In budgetary matters the position works closely with the appropriate Associate Deans and Manager of Academic Finance. The position is responsible for managing effective business and industry- based advisory committees; being the occupational contact with the Michigan Workforce Development Agency Community College Service Section; acting as a liaison with business, industry, and education partners.
