Of Job Purpose To perform and deliver patient care activities and related non-professional services for the chronic hemodialysis patient under the direction of a Registered Professional Nurse. Essential Job Responsibilities The following is a summary of the essential functions of this job. The employee may perform other duties, both major and minor, that are not mentioned below; and specific functions may change from time to time. Initiates, monitors patient throughout treatment and terminates hemodialysis treatments. Ensures patient safety through recognition and appropriate response to emergency situations. Notifies RN immediately. Performs and documents ongoing care of the Dialysis patient. Participates in established patient care plans and ongoing educational needs. Participates in patient and/or family conferences and serves as patient advocate. Assists with data collection and monitoring for P. I.
