Academic Achievement Center Peer Tutors, Peer-Assisted Learning (PAL) Leaders, and Undergraduate Writing Commons Tutors provide learning support to undergraduate students in one-hour sessions. Peer Tutors meet with students in online Teams meetings and in-person at various locations on the Athens and regional campuses. Tutors engage students in learning activities such as discussing class material and test questions, offering information about learning strategies, and fostering a positive learning environment. PAL Leaders facilitate weekly review sessions for students taking historically difficult courses. During PAL sessions, PAL Leaders facilitate discussion of important course concepts, help students develop strategies for studying, and teach participants how to become independent learners. In addition to facilitating weekly review sessions, PAL Leader responsibilities include attending class, communicating with the professor, and planning review sessions.
