We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Clerk for our client in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial operations, including invoice processing, check runs, and supporting audits. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with potential for career growth. This is a short-term contract employment opportunity.
Responsibilities:
Manage the administrative and clerical tasks required by the Accounts Payable and Finance Department.
Accurately execute daily financial processes and controls while adhering to company policies.
Provide exceptional customer service to internal stakeholders and business partners.
Assist with both internal and external audits as needed.
Handle and distribute incoming departmental mail on a daily basis.
Sort, log, photocopy, and file invoices, checks, and related documents.
Verify, log, and mail checks, ensuring timely processing and managing special handling requests.
Take on special projects as assigned to support departmental goals.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field.
At least two years of experience in accounts payable or a similar role is preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software tools.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, particularly when working with diverse teams.
Demonstrated ability to manage deadlines and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with accounts payable processes, including coding invoices and processing payments.
