Join our team as an Aviation Mechanic, where you will play a crucial role in building helicopters for civilian and military purposes.

Responsibilities:

• Install and adjust complex assemblies including correlator assembly, main rotor assembly, tail rotor assembly, and exhaust manifolds.
• Perform installations using power and hand tools according to blueprints and specifications.
• Set up, align, and assemble parts to be riveted in jig or fixture with temporary fasteners.
• Verify dimensions and alignment, drill parts, deburr holes, and reassemble parts for riveting.
• Fabricate thermoplastic parts and check for clarity, distortions, and defects.
• Fit and bond parts to assemble larger components, including installing gas tanks and electrical terminal boards.
• Assemble and mount doors, install locking mechanisms, and prepare openings.
• Build seat structure assemblies and attach cabin and tail cone to pylon.
• Select appropriate subassembly parts, measure specified tolerances, and hone and buff parts to fit.
• Position, align, and assemble parts using jigs, fixtures, and templates.
• Assemble and test dampers, conduct hydraulic tests, and record results.
• Inspect and test work to ensure conformance to specifications and maintain tools and equipment.

Essential Skills:

• Aviation maintenance experience
• A&P license
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics
• Troubleshooting skills
• Aircraft maintenance and repair
• Avionics installation and wiring diagram proficiency
• Mechanical troubleshooting

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Military experience is a plus
• Open to machine builders, diesel mechanics, and mechanically inclined individuals
• Experience with fabrication and sheet metal work
• Knowledge of wire harnesses and cable assembly

Work Environment:

You will be working in a clean, temperature-controlled shop with a small, family-type atmosphere. The facility hosts about 150 people, and you will report to a team lead. Enjoy a 1/2 hour unpaid lunch break. We offer positions for both 1st shift (Monday Friday, 6:00 AM 2:30 PM) and 2nd shift (Monday Thursday, 2:00 PM 12:30 AM) with a $1.50 per hour shift premium.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Menominee, Michigan.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $35.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
