With over 350 employees, MVD provides exclusive collection services to 31 local jurisdictions across Fresno, Merced, Madera, Kings, and Tulare Counties.Position: Baler OperatorLocation: Fresno, Elm LocationSchedule: Monday - Saturday (4:30am to 3:00pm)Job Type: Full-TimePay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour (DOE)JOB SUMMARYThe Baler Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating baling equipment to process recyclable materials into compact bales. This role plays a critical part in meeting production output, maintaining equipment, and ensuring bale quality.ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Baler Operation

Operate baling machines and conveyors per standard procedures

Monitor bale weight, tie integrity, and material type for accuracy and compliance

Perform basic troubleshooting and daily cleaning of baler area

Conduct equipment inspections and report maintenance needs

Follow safety procedures and wear required PPE

Assist in maintaining a clean and organized work area

Communicate with leads/supervisors about material flow or equipment issues

Perform other duties as assigned

REPORTING STRUCTURE: This position reports to: Production Supervisor, MRF/Compost OperationsMINIMUM KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:Education:

High School Diploma or GED required

Experience:

• 1+ year in recycling, warehouse, or baler operation preferred

Knowledge & Skills:

• Mechanical aptitude
• Attention to detail
• Ability to follow instructions
• Safety focused
• Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred
