The ASO3 - Zoning Help Desk participates in a variety of management services essential to operation of the Zoning Helpdesk area of the Codes Department. Performs related duties as required.The Metro Department of Codes and Building Safety, During the 2025 fiscal year, Codes issued and tracked $3.8 billion in building permits. The department concerns itself with the safety of the public as occupants in homes and buildings throughout the county and pro-motes beautiful neighborhoods through the enforcement of local codes and zoning regulations. Codes is an exciting and fast paced environment for those passionate about public safety in the construction and planning sectors.* Researches and recommends solutions for difficult and complex administrative or customer service problems.* Manages hubNashville Zoning queue for citizen inquiries.* Prepares and submits a variety of administrative or management related reports pertaining to the Zoning Helpdesk area.* Presents findings for consideration of structural or functional changes related to the Zoning Helpdesk.* Formulates statistical and personnel data used in the decision-making process for the Zoning Helpdesk.* Fields phone calls and walk-in customers and determines the types of services needed by the public.* Directs customers with questions related to Board of Zoning Appeals, Short Term Rental Appeals Board, and sidewalk waiver requests, etc.* Handles complaints and inquires by phone, email or in person, and resolves problems.* Works with zoning examiners and other divisions to assist customers in a timely manner.* Checks maps, parcel files, and other related sources for verifications.* Verifies licenses, application status, and other information.* May confer with division heads and other management regarding operations related to the Zoning Helpdesk.Bachelor's Degree plus two (2) years professional experience in an administrative or technical field.* Additional experience may be considered in lieu of education (1:1 Ratio)*Candidates with accreditations earned in a foreign institute are encouraged to apply.Note: Per Metro Ordinance No. SO94-1078.
