Heidelberg Materials North America operates over 450 locations across the U.S. and Canada with approximately 9,000 employees.**What You'll Be Doing**+ Operate small equipment and hand tools on a variety of job sites consisting of paving, grading, pipe installation, and site work.+ Maintains housekeeping of job site and facilities, ensures equipment is in good working order+ Working knowledge of methods, materials and tools used in asphalt paving, typical site work, grading, storm/sanitary/water pipe installation, etc+ Properly follow all Company policies and procedures for safe working procedures and environment. Report any problems to the Foreman, Superintendent, or Safety Manager.+ Performs routine inspection and preventative and corrective maintenance on small equipment and hand tools if within abilities; escalates issues that are not repairable or safe.+ Routinely assists other members of the crew as needed, including shoveling and cleanup+ Fuel, oil and grease to ensure proper function of equipment and complete associated paperwork+ Performs other related activities as assigned**What Are We Looking For**+ High School Diploma (or equivalency) AND prior relevant job experience+ Valid/Clean Driver's License+ Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.+ Must have the ability to work a varied schedule of day shift, night shift, and weekends due to construction contracts+ Ability to operate and maintain heavy equipment (excavator and loader experience preferred)+ Working knowledge of methods, materials and tools used in typical site work, grading, storm/sanitary/water pipe installation, etc+ Working knowledge of hazards and safety precautions**Conditions of Employment**+ Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check.**Work Environment**+ Role operates primarily in environments where the conditions include moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, cold, humidity, and elevated noise level.**What We Offer**+ $27.00 per hour base pay.
